Day 1 - arrive in Oslo

Arrive in Oslo from the international airport, or by transfer by rail from Copenhagen or Stockholm. Spend the rest of the day in the historic capital of Norway with over 700 years of architecture to be explored. Accommodation in a modern hotel close to the main train station.

Day 2 - to Stavanger

Today you board the express train over the Sørland railway to Stavanger, a scenic railway with varied landscapes ranging from idyllic hills to the rough forests with waterfalls that Norway is known for. A dining car is available. You arrive in Stavanger, the colorful city on the Southern coast, after 8 hours and stay in a modern hotel in the city center.

Optional Lysefjord day trip
If you book at least one extra night in Stavanger, you can book a day trip by cruise over the Lysefjord. Enjoy the scenery with majestic mountain ranges (including the famous Preikestolen peak), waterfalls, seal colonies, and rustic Norwegian farming villages.

Day 3 - to Bergen

Today you experience the wildest and most beautiful landscapes yet. The comfortable and spectacular Kystbus uses two ferries and several tunnels under the sea to take you to Bergen. In this landscape, even a bus ride is a once in a lifetime experience. You stay in a modern hotel close to the train station.

Day 4 - Bergen

Day off to explore Bergen and the surrounding area. The historic city built on the surrounding hills is Norway’s second largest and has a wonderful historic quarter and waterfront, as well as excellent cultural and historical museums. Take a ride on the Floibanan funicular railway or the Ulrikan cable car, to the highest mountain around the city with a spectacular scenic view.

Day 5 - Norway in a Nutshell

The itinerary also known as the ‘Norway in a Nutshell’ route. Depart by train over the famous Bergensbanen to Voss, where you transfer to the connecting bus to Gudvangen. Here you board the spectacular cruise through the Naerøyfjord. The fully electric ship allows you to experience the magnificent Fjord’s with its steep mountains in a serene quiet.

Take the famous Flam Railway at a slow pace along some of Norway’s most beautiful views to Vatnahalsen, a small village that can only be reached by the railway, and stay at the rustic Høyfjellshotell next to the train station.

Day 6 - Bergensbanen

Board the Flam Railway for the last few minutes of the journey to Myrdal, where you transfer to the Bergensbanen train that takes you to Oslo. Admire the beautiful scenery of forests, fjords and mountains. In Oslo you stay at a modern hotel in the city center.

Day 7 - return trip

Enjoy a last day in Oslo and in Norway. You transfer by train back to the airport or to Copenhagen or Stockhol. Extra nights in Oslo can be booked in addition via the booking menu.
